  • Turn off the gas supply at the meter – locate the valve handle at the meter and turn it into the off position.
  • If the smell of gas comes from around the meter, call the gas provider right away.

  • Don’t turn on or off any electrical equipment to avoid an explosion caused by accidentally created sparks.
  • Put out all flames around the house, including candles, cigarettes and open fire,
  • Open the doors and the windows to ventilate the area.

  • Do not turn on the gas supply until you are sure it is safe to use the gas again.
